Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Tungnath are three significant pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand, India, nestled in the Himalayas. Each holds immense religious and spiritual significance in Hinduism, particularly in Shaivism and Vaishnavism.
Kedarnath – One of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and part of the Char Dham Yatra. Located at an altitude of 3,583 meters, the Kedarnath temple is near the Mandakini River and surrounded by breathtaking snow-capped peaks.
Badrinath – Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Badrinath is one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites and the most important of the four Chota Char Dham shrines. The temple is situated at 3,133 meters on the banks of the Alaknanda River.
Tungnath – The highest Shiva temple in the world, part of the Panch Kedar, located at 3,680 meters in the Rudraprayag district. It is believed to be over 1,000 years old and is closely associated with the legend of the Pandavas from the Mahabharata.
